The NJZ Defender-S Series LED flood luminaires deliver a lighting solution that performs reliably in hazardous locations, including offshore oil platforms, petroleum refineries, drilling rigs, chemical plants, utility gas plants, sewage treatment plants, and warehouses of flammable, etc. These extremely versatile industrial lighting systems are valued engineered to provide enhanced safety and productivity while offering high energy savings, superior optical performance and maintenance-free operation. The Defender-S Series is tested and certified to both the UL 1598A and UL 844 safety standards for approved use in marine and hazardous work areas under categories of Class I Division 1, Group C, D; Class I Division 2, Group A, B, C, D; Class II Division 2, Group F, G; and Class III.

Instead of following conventional cylindrical flame path design, the most critical part of Defender flameproof enclosure is designed with parallel plane joints so as to maximize light distribution coverage of the light engine. Defender's plane flameproof joints are manufactured to the most stringent UL844 C1D1 specifications by leveraging NJZ's cutting edge engineering capabilities in precision machining and die casting, resulting in a luminaire with the strongest resistance to the propagation of an internal explosion to the surrounding explosive atmosphere.

The Defender-S LED floodlight features a rugged construction, excellent thermal design, IP66 weatherproof rating and corrosion resistant enclosure, providing the internal components with robust protection against moisture, corrosives, vibration and temperature extremes. The heavy duty aluminum housing consists of a die cast heat sink with an array of vertical fins that are optimized to maximize both convective and radiative cooling and ensure optimum thermal transfer to the ambient air. A separate driver box provides thermal isolation so that the heat generated by the LEDs does not interfere with the LED driver. Both the light assembly and driver box are gasketed and sealed against intrusion by water and environmental contaminants, and electrostatically applied with a TGIC polyester powdercoat finish for superior weatherability and resistance against salt corrosion in marine environments.

The Defender-S Series explosion proof LED flood lights are offered in three wattages option - 80, 100 and 150 watts, and the corresponding luminous flux of 10,400, 13,000 and 19,500 lm. Sophisticated CREE chipset technology offers the DLC qualified LED luminaire an industry-leading luminous efficacy of 130 LPW. Precision-molded optics are made of heat and impact resistant, UV stabilized PMMA lens to deliver superior uniformity and a choice of standard NEMA floodlight distributions ( 25°, 60°, 120°). High performance Meanwell LED power supplies with full set of advanced protection features operate to specification under wide temperature and electrical ranges for maximum efficiency and reliability.
