The SK6812 combines RGBW LED chips and driver IC into a single 5050 SMD package. The on-board IC allows the LEDs to be individually controlled using a single I/O line through a high-speed one-wire protocol with strict timing requirements. Thanks to its built-in constant current control with output driven by the patented PWM technology, SK6812 has voltage-independent color and brightness over the 3.5V-5V range. This means TS-SK6812 LED strip lights have consistent brightness and color regardless of voltage drops caused by the resistance in long power connections (a few meters). SK6812's data transfer protocol utilizes single NZR communication mode and sends data packet containing the RGB values at a rate of 800Kbps. SK6812 modules have fast color updates and minimal transmission delay, which makes them a great choice for long run applications where update latency over a large number of LEDs is a concern.
The SK6812 modules have three primary colors with each having 256 gray levels. Full RGB color mixing produces 16.7 million colors. The intelligent LED modules perform as individually controllable light nodes which can be assigned with different control signals simultaneously. The combination of RGB color mixing and individual addressability makes TS-SK6812 LED strips an extremely versatile lighting solution that offers an infinite variety of colors and their combinations across the entire run. The addition of a white color LED channel with an 80+ color rendering index enables the light strip to create higher intensity whites and provide a more uniform illumination of all colors of the spectrum. When connected with wireless or wired color controllers, the digital LED strip lights can create up to 130 color patterns with 100 speed adjustments. TS-SK6812 LED strips are fabricated on double sided flexible printed circuit boards which are made of rolled-annealed (RA) copper for high fatigue and thermal performance. The modules are mounted to the PCB using a no-clean, lead-free solder. Uniform screen printing and tightly controlled reflow solder yields solder joints with high electrical breakdown strength and resistance to mechanical shocks or vibrational stresses. TS-SK6812 is designed for the most demanding professional applications including those requiring tight bends or exposure to dust and water. With weatherproof sheathing such as silicone coating and/or silicone sleeve encapsulation, TS-SK6812 will survive any weather or environmental conditions.
