The intense light produced by SMD5630 LEDs is diffused by a frosted PMMA lens which provides a combination of high light diffusion and high light transmission for high levels of visual comfort and lighting efficiency.
Superior thermal management is achieved by constructing a high efficiency thermal path with low conductive thermal resistance within the luminaire and increasing the heat dissipating capacity of the heat sink which also serves as the luminaire housing. Solder joints with strong metallurgical bonding ensures high thermal stability the SMD LED assembly. A low thermal resistance PCB and thermal interface material (TIM) maximize heat flow from the LED junction the heat sink. The robust heat sink is made of die cast magnesium alloy which has a higher thermal conductivity than aluminum. The heat sink is cast with an array of vertical fins which provides maximized surface area for thermal convection. The integral trim also increases heat dissipation area while offering improved structural durability and a visually integrated geometric look that blends in well with ceilings.
The AS-DN Series offers both integrated driver and external driver models designed to accommodate different recess depths. These constant current LED drivers provide power factor correction (PFC), low total harmonic distortion (THD) and exceptional operating efficiency across the a universal input voltage range from 100 to 240 VAC. Large current ripples not only reduce the reliability but also lead to irritating flickering (stroboscopic) effect that may cause eye stress. The drivers that power the AS-DN downlights generate minimal ripples in the output current, which ensures flicker-free operation.
