The Ansen AS-DN Series LED downlights are designed for both new construction and retrofit projects with reliability, durability and affordability in mind. Available in a wide selection of lumen packages, cutout sizes as well as externally mounted and integrated driver options, these recessed downlights deliver high performance downlighting well suited to a variety of mounting depths and ceiling apertures. The luminaire is engineered to create uncompromising general illumination performance and achieve an unobtrusive aperture appearance with a competitive cost of ownership. The AS-DN LED downlights come in seven lumen packages ranging from 300 lm to 3000 lm. High quality light source from LG Innotek allows the lighting system to be designed with the perfect combination of good color quality, high efficacy and low system cost. With a consistent system efficacy of up to 80 lm/W over its long rated operation life of 30,000 hours, AS-DN LED downlight deliver significant energy savings which translates to an unmatched ROI compared with conventional incandescent, halogen and CFL lamps. The LED light engine delivers high lumen-per-dollar performance while addressing the stringent light quality, efficacy, and reliability requirement in modern commercial, office and retail lighting applications. The intense light produced by SMD5630 LEDs is diffused by a frosted PMMA lens which provides a combination of high light diffusion and high light transmission for high levels of visual comfort and lighting efficiency.

Superior thermal management is achieved by constructing a high efficiency thermal path with low conductive thermal resistance within the luminaire and increasing the heat dissipating capacity of the heat sink which also serves as the luminaire housing. Solder joints with strong metallurgical bonding ensures high thermal stability the SMD LED assembly. A low thermal resistance PCB and thermal interface material (TIM) maximize heat flow from the LED junction the heat sink. The robust heat sink is made of die cast magnesium alloy which has a higher thermal conductivity than aluminum. The heat sink is cast with an array of vertical fins which provides maximized surface area for thermal convection. The integral trim also increases heat dissipation area while offering improved structural durability and a visually integrated geometric look that blends in well with ceilings.

The AS-DN Series offers both integrated driver and external driver models designed to accommodate different recess depths. These constant current LED drivers provide power factor correction (PFC), low total harmonic distortion (THD) and exceptional operating efficiency across the a universal input voltage range from 100 to 240 VAC. Large current ripples not only reduce the reliability but also lead to irritating flickering (stroboscopic) effect that may cause eye stress. The drivers that power the AS-DN downlights generate minimal ripples in the output current, which ensures flicker-free operation.
