Designed to smooth out the transition to the cutting edge performance of LED lighting, PAR20PRL0 is constructed with an aluminum housing in a form factor consistent with legacy equivalents. The aluminum housing provides excellent heat dissipation as well as thermal convection with purposefully designed vertical ventilation cutouts. The directional lamp also incorporates fan-assisted active thermal management to facilitate convection by blowing heated air across the light engine to the ambient atmosphere through the air flow passageways. With a low thermal resistance MCPCB and high thermal conductivity thermal interface material (TIM), the lighting system comes with an adequately dimensioned thermal path from junction to the surrounding environment.
The PAR20 bulb uses 9 Osram SMD3030 LEDs to deliver an impressive amount of light with high color rendering performance and tight correlated color temperature control. The driver draws only 25 watts of electrical power and produces a minimum of 1500 lumens of high quality light. With exceptional system level thermal management, the thermally optimized LED packages provide consistent lighting performance with superior lumen maintenance and chromaticity stability. The ability to maintain a constant chromaticity point over its lifetime is crucial for directional light sources which are used to enhance colors and textures of illuminated items in a museum or retail store. Precision optics are uniquely constructed to deliver glare-free, shadowless illumination in three spot beam options - 10°, 15°and 24°.
PAR20PRL0 has an integrated LED driver which operates at a 100-240V input range. The constant current driver provides excellent power factor correction and accurate load regulation at an efficiency of 82%. This driver circuit is capable to provide 720mA current with minimal ripples provided to the LED load. Built-in over-temperature protection allows the circuit to reduce drive current in the event of overheating.
