The housing is made from aluminum alloy which facilitates heat dissipation and improves dimensional stability. The bulb also takes advantage of natural convection to efficiently transfer the heat generated in LED junctions to the ambient atmosphere through a number of holes. The light assembly includes a low thermal resistance conductivity PCB and high performance thermal interface material (TIM) to maximize the heat flow from the PCB to the heat sink. The thermal path from the LED die through the package encapsulant to the ambient environment provides an optimized combination of conduction and convection that ensures adequate thermal transfer.
The LED bulb incorporates a Luminus COB which delivers both lumen and CBCP performance that outperforms all PAR20 halogen luminaires in its class. With a low power consumption of 8 watts the COB LED produces a light output of 600 lumens in a single beam. Luminus COB technology offers exceptional color rendering with a standard 80 CRI as well as a 90+ CRI option for true vibrant color rendition. The COB LED module is operated by a constant current driver rated for 190-130, 180-240V and 100-240 VAC applications. The high efficiency driver incorporates power factor correction and provides flicker-free current regulation. The dimmable bulb has high compatibility with most phase-cut Triac dimmer controls.
