The emergency lighting system consists of an AC driver that converts electric power from a line voltage supply (over a universal input range between 100VAC and 240VAC) and regulates DC output current at up to 850 mA with power factor correction (PFC) and total harmonic distortion (THD) control. A universal input emergency LED driver that is fed from the same branch circuit as the AC driver works in conjunction with the AC driver to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the LED tubes. This emergency driver is comprised of a high-temperature, maintenance-free lithium battery, charge controller and electronic circuitry. The electronic circuitry automatically detects the voltage level of the AC input. When an absence of AC power is detected, the circuitry switches from mains operation to emergency operation in less than 2 seconds. Upon restoration of AC power the electronic circuitry will automatically switch the LED load back to AC driven mode and the emergency LED driver will return to the charging mode.
Available in an integrated system as well as an emergency light kit with independent AC and emergency drivers, PVTECH emergency LED tubes utilize state-of-the-art control gear, switching circuitry and high performance batteries to deliver exceptional reliability and lifetime value. The emergency driver of the externally driven lighting system is capable of operating an LED load of up to 50 Watts with a maximum output voltage of 55V for 3 hours of runtime at emergency lumen output of 800 lm. The integrated emergency LED tube provides the same duration at a reduced lumen output of 200 lm maximum with an emergency output power of 23 Watts maximum from a 12V/750mAh Li-ion battery. The externally powered emergency lighting kit is equipped with a 12V/2000mAh Li-ion battery.

A durable aluminum and polycarbonate construction provides excellent bending durance and thermal management. High quality SMD LEDs deliver high luminous efficacy and quality of light with superior lumen maintenance and chromaticity stability. The frosted polycarbonate diffuser creates optimum light uniformity with reduced glare. For retrofit applications installation of these LED T8 tubes requires bypassing or removing the ballasts.
