The surface mount LED packages are reflow soldered to a metal core printed circuit board which is designed to minimize the thermal resistance between the LED package and the heat sink. A heat sink with integral radiation fins is made of high thermal conductivity aluminum alloy. Adequate heat sinking ensures that the temperature of all components, the phosphor material in particular, is maintained within functional and absolute maximum limits for excellent lumen maintenance, color stability and operational life. The downlight has a white trim that blends unobtrusively with contemporary interiors. An external constant current driver allows use in ceiling spaces previously not possible for all-in-one LED downlights. The triac or 1-10V dimmable driver operates on universal 100-240VAC input with high efficiency, high power factor and low harmonic distortion through the entire load range.
